How can Beverly Hills become a thriving suburb with liveability that pleases the community? In this podcast’s first interview, Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg speaks with Penny about the Beverly Hills Master Plan. This includes commentary about how the Council has been leading this process, how the Moomba-Sydney pipeline has affected the plan and how the community’s safety has been prioritised, and its connection to the cessation of small businesses. This interview explores the future development of Beverly Hills and demonstrates how the Council invites the community to provide their feedback on changes they believe would benefit their suburb.

In contrast, Dr Ben Balzer, the President of Revive! Beverly Hills United, whose family has been practicing in Beverly Hills for nearly 60 years provides a local perspective on the Plan. He shares his views with Penny on how he thinks the Council has been handling the Beverly Hills Master Plan. He comments on the Moomba-Sydney pipeline’s minimal risk to public safety, comparing it to similar situations in Wolli Creek, negative effects on property values due to delays in the Plan and his frustration with the Council. This interview examines Dr Balzer’s views on the changes needed to restore Beverly Hills to success.
