Featured Blanca Llorente (Millennium Latino – Spanish, every Friday 10pm-1am, Saturday 1pm-3pm)

I was involved with the Peruvian Club for 30 years, organising Cultural Exhibitions events, Social function, picnics and tourism trips around NSW.
For 18 years I was in charge of a swimming class Halliwick (means people with disability stroke or paralyse) that took place at Wairora Swimming Pool and Prince Of Wales Hospital.
I participated as a Volunteer at the Sydney Olympic, Paralympic 2000, Gay Olympics and Masters.  I was based at the Airport for two months where I was able to used my Spanish language and the I had to prepare the accreditation ID’s for participants to the Olympic games.
Currently I present a radio Program of six hours each week. I became involve with the radio Communication 1977, when 2EA was transmitting at Catholic Radio at Lyons Road, Five Dock. It was one of the first Spanish Programs organised by Flor Becerra, after they move to the Clarence Street, City, and now they are in Artarmon, currently called the “SBS” Sydney Broadcasting Service that transmits in different languages.  In that time I become a mother raising two children and working, was hard. I gave up the radio.
In 1998 I did a Radio Communication training course at TAFE and 2NBC FM 90.1 radio Station. Since then, I’ve been presenting  Spanish  and  English Program which is a voluntary job runs on Friday for four hours 22:00 pm to 01:00 am and on Saturday 13:00 pm to 15:00 pm. The program is based on current news, interviews, community Cultural, social events and sports activities around the world and Australia.
When there are events at the radio Station, I participate with the Radio events and activities  to help them to achieve their goals, sometimes it’s to raise funds for the RADIO,2NBC 90.1 FM Community Radio station.
During these years, I have been able to interview members of parliament, doctors, nutritionist and psychologist who are in contact the multicultural, movie directors and guest speakers. It does give me the pleasure to stay in contact with the community and share the program with them – music, social and cultural events, sports etc.
